Cosmetic Samples

Cosmetic Samples by James Brown

When you walk into some department stores you often find several counters where sales ladies are offering to let you try out make-up, lipstick, powder and perfume in all shades and scents. They sell powder to make your face less shiny and liquid make-up to give you a shiny glow. With either there will be the perfect shade of rouge to brush lightly over your cheeks. Take your pick.

There is usually a stool for you to sit on in front of a mirror as you try the various products. You are caught up in getting something for free. They call it a free skin evaluation or something similar to make it sound more elaborate. There is day make-up and night make-up and indoor make-up and outdoor. You get the picture, lots of different products they can try to sell you.

But if the samples are open and being used by many women before you- - pass up the opportunity. Finding out if you look hot in the latest shade of eye shadow isn’t worth going to the doctor and being treated for pink eye — or worse. Often next to the eye shadow samples you will see q-tips. You know, the ones that are used to clean ears. Rub the q-tip in the eye shadow and apply it to one eye. Now, do you take another one for your other eye — or do you double dip. What about the woman who tested the eye shadow before you? If the woman before you did dip the q-tip back in after it had touched her skin, you will be putting whatever germs she carried on your skin and very close to your eye. It’s not possible to determine how many women tried the eye shadow before you. The woman before the woman before you may have had a cold and possibly sneezed into the eye shadow. You never know.

Besides, department store make-up is way overpriced. Many of the liquid make-ups are over a hundred dollars an ounce. Yikes, who needs to be that beautiful. Better to shop at Walgreens and for $20 you can look almost as good. No, seriously, the $20 bottle of liquid make-up may be as good or better than the $100 bottle. It has been tested on television shows where the hostess did half of one woman’s face with the $100 make-up and the other half with the $20 version. It looked identical. The packaging on the department store version is better and that’s the only difference…

A safer way to try out different colors and textures is available. Avon ladies still come to your home if you call and ask to connect with one. They have little tiny lipstick samples, eye shadow samples, etc. They’ll sit with you and advise you if one looks better on you than the others. You can check the colors for how they look outside if you sit next to a window. They have little samples of liquid make-up too. It is important to get a shade that works on you. Even a pretty woman can look terrible in the wrong color make-up. Always remember the purpose is not to hide your face but to enhance it. Remember “less is more” meaning ” less” make-up makes you “more” attractive.

Explaing The Popularity Of Natural Baby Care Products

Explaing The Popularity Of Natural Baby Care Products by Peyton Hines

Whether you are a new or more experienced parent, of course, you want the best for your child. Today, there is a lot more respect shown to natural baby care means including organic remedies because more and more people that treat their babies with things such as traditional medicine are recognizing the benefits of herbs. There are new baby care products being released on the market all the time, but you might have noticed that natural baby care products are becoming more and more popular. Why is this?

Natural baby care products are of course the best way for you to care for your baby whenever possible. These products come in many different forms. Undoubtedly most important is the food your child eats. Next, skin products should be natural baby care products, since these products are “ingested” in some form or another; they are either absorbed through the skin or ingested when your child places a hand in his or her mouth, for example.

Where should you get your natural baby care products? When you are shopping online, you should only buy baby food that comes from the official web site of a known brand. If you are shopping at your local grocery store, check out those food brands that are most well known to you and perhaps most popular. If a particular brand is on sale, make sure that, first of all, the expiration date for that particular food is not close at hand. Then, make sure that it is a popular brand and that you’re just getting a good deal. This does happen, and if it does, good for you. Of course, you first concern is for your child’s health, however, not the money you save. If in doubt, don’t buy.

Because some babies may have trouble digesting food, make sure the natural baby food products you buy contain easy to digest fruits and vegetables. Ask your pediatrician whether or not your little one is ready for such potentially allergenic foods as cereals, dairy, and the like. If not, avoid these.

When you care for your baby’s skin, you can choose from many natural products. Perhaps one of the most important skincare products for your baby is diaper rash cream. Many brand-name diaper rash ointments contain such potentially harmful substances as petroleum jelly. A better and more natural option is to choose a diaper rash cream that has an aloe vera base. Aloe vera also helps heal minor cuts and burns.

You can find natural baby care skin products in a variety of places. One of the easiest ways to shop for natural baby care skin products is online. If you go online, you can research a particular brand you like before you buy it. In some cases, you can also buy online; or go to your local drug or department store, or a specialty shop such as a baby boutique. Whichever you choose, a little homework and some careful planning will help you buy just the products you need.

For answers to your questions about these baby care basics, you can consult from a virtual library of baby care books. Since natural baby care products are so readily available, parents interested in using these products should have no problem finding them. It is a good idea to have done the research and some of these products on hand before the first labor pains even hit.

Can Laser Light Rejuvenation Diminish The Signs Of Aging?

Can Laser Light Rejuvenation Diminish The Signs Of Aging? by Jennifer Blackie

Laser treatments are fast becoming a very widespread service offered within the medical and paramedical community. These treatments are used to rejuvenate the look of old, dry and wrinkled skin areas that may be affecting the way a person feels and acts in their everyday life. The laser treatments can smooth out wrinkles and minimize other signs of aging like sunspots and other skin conditions that the person may want to be rid of. By using the laser to carefully and painfully burn away the top layer of old and ‘dead’ skin cells, the laser treatments allow the softer and more vibrant layer of skin cells to show through.

These laser treatments are being carried out in virtually every city in the world through hospitals and private clinics. The popularity of the treatment and the results it gives has become tied to certain celebrity skin care regimens. Because of this, many people want the treatments in order to emulate the way some of their idols look or at least the way they take care of their skin. The treatments themselves require very little in the way of recovery and downtime and the healing process is getting shorter every year as new and improved methods are tried and perfected by the professionals who administer the treatments.

Most people have the laser treatments carried out around their eyes and mouth to help remove the worst of the wrinkles they find. There are generally only some areas of mild swelling and redness following the treatments, which is only to be expected after the top layer of skin, is literally burned off by the laser. Some after-treatment suggestions include staying out of direct sunlight for the first six months following treatment, or if this can’t reasonably be expected to occur, the patient should at least wear a strong sunscreen formula.

The lasers themselves, in the hands of competent and highly trained professionals, can be manipulated as precisely as any surgical scalpel. Many patients find that after a laser treatment their skin feels very tight. This sensation is due to the skin layer being bonded together by the laser and the feeling fades as the skin heals to become smoother and more youthful looking. The sensation after a laser treatment has been compared to having a sunburn.

Some people, who have an abundance of freckles or other skin marks, may choose to have them treated by the laser. Usually carried out at a clinic, the laser treatments take very little time to perform as a rule depending on the area of skin being treated. In many cases, the patient is up and out of the clinic within a few hours with hardly more than a few days of recovery time ahead of them. Because of the natural elasticity that most people have in their skin, the time between the treatments and when the skin becomes more smooth and supple, is relatively short. Applying moisturizing lotions and sunscreen and staying out of direct sunlight are the main rules to live by after the treatments are over.

Bold Retirement: Will You Be Ready?

Bold Retirement: Will You Be Ready? by Barbara Morris, R.Ph.

When Mary Lloyd asked me to review her book, Bold Retirement: Mining Your Own Silver for a Rich Life I agreed but with some trepidation. There are two words in the title that are turnoffs for me: “retirement” and “silver.” I loathe and detest the word “retirement” and the word “silver” conjures up visions of well off couples playing golf and going on cruises as a lifestyle. Even though the word “bold” is used to modify the word “retirement” in a positive way I thought, “Well, here’s one more book that tells old people how to live life as a pastime.”

I said I’d review it so I jumped into my usual “let’s get this over with” speed-reading mode but quickly slowed down to savor what the author was saying. If you’ve ever started to read a book and after reading just one paragraph you know you don’t want to put it down, this is one of those books. It is immediately clear that Mary Lloyd is a brilliant woman with a definite flair for writing engaging prose. Yes, she talks about retirement, but not in the way I had expected.

Mary sees retirement as the beginning of a new and exciting phase of life – if you approach it properly. You’ve seen or read books with the same focus, but Bold Retirement is in a class of its own. I promise, this book is different, in more ways than I can count. It takes a lot for me to be this impressed.

Bold Retirement not only tells you how to prepare for a fulfilling retirement (if you want to want to use the word “retirement” — the author calls it “leaving work”.) The author gives you real tools to help you discover who you are now and how to decide what you really want to do with the rest of your life that will be fulfilling. There are pages and pages of exercises that will help you get to know yourself as you never have before. It’s a bit scary but also intensely liberating.

Bold Retirement will help you in the following ways:

• Challenge the false limits assumed to be part of “aging”
• Discover what’s uniquely important for YOU
• Access the energy to live retirement exuberantly
• Define your best lifestyle and direction
• Develop skills for achieving a satisfying vibrant retirement

And it’s all done in the most engaging manner you can possibly imagine. Here are some chapter headings that indicate you are in for some entertaining and challenging reading:

• Mental Monkey Bars
• Nuts and Bolts and Other Physical Stuff
• Marshmallows, Icicles & Prickly Things in the Dark
• Managing Zucchini
• Cut the List for the Whole Enchilada

If you are close to retirement Bold Retirement is a must read. It could be life changing and even life saving because you probably have not thought about the future in the mind-opening way Mary Lloyd does. If you are into “retirement” and have gotten stuck in a rut, this book will help you lift yourself out of your rut and up into the life you want and deserve.

If you can put up with the rather pungent smell of fresh garlic then garlic can help to relive acne, but you will not be eating it! What you need to do is crush a couple of fresh garlic cloves into a paste and smear it on the acne-affected area twice daily, preferably after you have been out! Rubbing fresh garlic on pimples also works to remove them without leaving any marks.

Vinegar And Salt.

Surprisingly, vinegar mixed with a bit of salt also serves as a home remedy for acne, not to mention a great addition to a plate of chip’s! (Fries to some). The way to use this is to apply the salty vinegar solution by gently massaging it into the acne affected area. Then allowing it a few minutes to do it’s job before washing it off with water.

This is an easy to make remedy for acne. How you make it is to add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to 3 tablespoons of honey, then mix well to form a paste. Once you have made the paste apply it to your pimples before going to bed at night then when you wake the next morning wash off with tepid water.
